International

Studenterhus Aarhus is the meeting place for students from all over the world, who study in Aarhus for shorter or longer periods of time. Through a number of international projects we lessen the distance between danish and international students – both metaphorically and literally – by providing the place to meet.

We host weekly International Nights; parties, hygge, and relaxing evenings in the Student Café, where all students are welcome. Furthermore, our volunteer group plan and host different activities, from trips to Legoland and Skagen, to stand-up comedy, pub quizzes, board game nights, and much more.

Studenterhus Aarhus is also the driving force behind the dinner club Internationalize With Us, where international PhD.-students and post-docs are paired with Danish families, and the running club Run for Friendship, where Danish and international students and employees from local businesses run with professional coaches. Once a month, we get together with international and Danish students to explore our city with Culture Buddies, a collaboration with Aarhus Municipality.

Erasmus Student Network (ESN)

Studenterhus Aarhus’ International group constitutes Erasmus Student Network of Aarhus.

If you’re interested in the international leg of the student house, the international volunteer group, or if you have any ideas for what we can offer the international students in Aarhus, you are more than welcome to reach out to our International Coordinator Sigrun Schaumburg-Müller in our office or at sigrun@studenterhusaarhus.dk.

ESNcard

The ESNcard is your ESN membership card. It gives you access to ESN events and discounts for services provided by ESN partners and can be used all over Europe. The ESN card is valid for 1 year from the date of registration. Please note that the ESNcard is not the same as a Student House membership card which provides discounts specifically for Student House activities and services. You do not need an ESNcard to join any of the activities hosted by ESN Aarhus/Studenterhus Aarhus.

You can get your ESNcard after you have arrived in the city of your exchange.

You can buy your ESNcard in Studiecaféen during opening hours.

Internationalize with Us

Every year Aarhus University and Studenterhus Aarhus organize the successful Internationalize with Us, where we match international PhD students with Danish families. This is your chance to get to know a Danish family, get insight into Danish culture and find friends for life.

How does it work

We match the PhDs who sign up with a Danish family from Studenterhus Aarhus’ business network. You and the family arrange (min.) four meet-ups and are invited to participate in four other events with all the other participants – the kick-off dinner, a dinner at AU, dinner at a local company and the final dinner. If your family is here with you, they are of course welcome to join.

We have room for 16 matches. In case of an uneven number of a match applications we will select among all applicants to ensure the best matches.

Important dates

21 April: Deadline for sign-up

1 May: Kick-off Event

18 June: AU Visit

17 September: Company Visit
